The cheapest suitable PCB service depends on the actual design, quantity and delivery requirement. A promotional starting price is not a complete quote. Compare the same released board across suppliers and keep technical differences visible before deciding which offer provides the best value.
Start with official service information
| Supplier | Primary information to review |
|---|---|
| JLCPCB | Published PCB capability information |
| PCBWay | PCB quotation and service entry points |
| NextPCB | Fabrication, assembly and capability sections |
These are examples of services to investigate, not a verified ranking or an assurance that any one is cheapest. Use the current quote for your files. Do not carry forward an old promotional price or an unsupported customer-quality score.
Make each quote comparable
Enter the same dimensions, quantity, layers, thickness, copper, finish and delivery location. Check whether the selected service assumes a standard material construction or permits the required alternatives. Include special holes, edge features and impedance requirements in the review.
Confirm whether the quoted item is bare PCB fabrication or a populated assembly. Component cost, setup, programming and test can change the comparison substantially. A small difference in bare-board cost may be outweighed by the rest of the build.
Record the total cost and exceptions
- Save the quote date and design revision.
- Record the usable quantity delivered.
- Include tooling, test, packing and delivery charges.
- List each proposed technical deviation.
- Review schedule start conditions and transit assumptions.
- Choose only offers that meet the required construction.
A cheaper option can be attractive when it uses a simpler standard process that still meets the design. It is less useful when it requires an unreviewed material substitution or removes an inspection that the project needs.
Keep shipping methods and destination assumptions consistent across the comparison. A fast factory option paired with slow transport may not support the same deadline as another quote. Record any uncertain charges separately and resolve them before treating the total as final.
Use the first order to evaluate practical value
Record the clarity of technical questions, accuracy of the delivered specification and handling of any issue. Inspect the boards before investing components and assembly time. Keep evidence that distinguishes a design mistake from a manufacturing problem.
Recheck price and service conditions for each new revision or major quantity change. The fabrication price guide explains cost drivers, while the prototype manufacturer guide provides a broader comparison when support and process evidence matter as much as price.
Move from reading to a build-ready project
