Intermittent oozing or inconsistent deposits can lead to repeated pressure adjustments at a dispensing station. Before settling on new settings, preserve the syringe’s preparation and use history. The program controls the equipment, but it does not identify the condition of the fluid inside the barrel.

Observe the pattern of the problem

Record whether the concern appears at startup, after a pause, near a particular fill level or throughout the run. Identify the affected syringe and deposits. Keep the original material container and filling records associated with the sample.

Nordson EFD identifies several air-entry mechanisms, including filling, unsuitable thawing and air bypassing a piston during demanding dispensing. This makes an air investigation broader than checking for a visibly large bubble at the nozzle.

Reconstruct the material path

Stage Record to review
Supply Prefilled package or onsite transfer
Conditioning Actual storage and thawing history
Filling Approved method and piston installation
Dispensing Tip, pressure, cycle and material level

Follow the specific fluid supplier’s conditioning instructions. A technique described for one viscosity or material is not automatic authorization to centrifuge, warm or otherwise reprocess another adhesive.

Compare a controlled material state

Use identified syringes prepared under the approved method, then compare deposit behavior with the existing setup. Keep fluid temperature and tip identity in the record. Changing preparation, pressure and tip geometry simultaneously prevents a clear conclusion about which variable mattered.

For example, if a deposit becomes unstable only after a long pause, retain the pause duration in the test. A continuous series of good shots does not reproduce that operating condition.

Measure the delivered result

  1. Define the required deposit quantity and geometry.
  2. Record individual results at relevant points in the run.
  3. Observe material after a stop or restart.
  4. Check the cured or assembled result where applicable.
  5. Release the preparation and dispensing method together.

A larger dot after increasing pressure is not evidence that the original cause has been removed. The revised setting may simply alter the symptom while leaving its variation unresolved.

Preserve rejected syringes for appropriate examination under the material and equipment procedures. Mark them so they are not returned to normal production merely because enough material remains inside.

Include piston and barrel compatibility in replacement-part control. A visually similar consumable can change the physical arrangement without changing the machine recipe.

Note any material transferred between syringes during troubleshooting. That transfer creates a new preparation event and should remain visible when comparing the later deposit behavior with the original sample.

The paste-formulation trial addresses material selection, while adhesive cure review connects a dispensed deposit to a later assembly operation.
